All the quilts in this gallery were made and quilted by Helen. Some were quilted completely freehand, using I/S, and some were quilted using IQ and freehand work.

This shows the size of the stitched designs. Even though this was a mini quilt, it probably took as long to stitch out as a full size quilt because it had to be stitched very slowly. These tiny feathers needed the IQ speed set to 0.5 and details at 0.3 to ensure accuracy. (I have Super Motors V2) You will notice the spacing between the sash and the border above the end of the ruler is wider than it should be. This is due to me not following my own advice about stitching wholecloths from the interior outwards, but on the whole I am pleased with this piece.

This mini wholecloth measures 25" x 20" and is stitched on polyester satin. It isn't bound in this photo. The border feather is Abundant Feathers border by Three Sisters Quilting. All the other feathers and the sashing pattern are my own design. The sashing is called Lob and comes with IQ. The stars are defined with very shallow continuous curves. I designed the quilt on my IQ.

Crazy quilting without any piecing. I used many different patterns and placed them using line pattern along imaginary seam lines. I reduced their size so they they looked like fancy embroidery stitches. the motifs and seam patterns are from a variety of pattern designers.

This 28" x 28" wholecloth was designed on IQ and stitched entirely by IQ. Most of the motifs and the feather border pattern are by Ellen Munnich (Quilt Recipes) The motifs are some of her Baltimore album pattern. The sashing pattern comes with IQ and is called Lob (Patterns by Helen). One of the motifs is a variation of one of the patterns in the Patterns by Emilia catalog.

I used Anne Bright and Andy Graciarena patterns and an IQ created wavy border and star border. All the stitch in the ditch was done by IQ. The eagle in the red triangles is by Anne Bright, The heart with star and stripes is by Andy Graciarena. I modified that pattern to create the 4 heart motif and the flip-flopped hearts in the white stripe.

This quilt won a second place ribbon at MQX West, 2011 in the computer category. (Machine Quilter's Exposition)

It was quilted entirely using line pattern. The curved spiral and swag can be found in Patterns by Helen. I recorded one repeat of the small inner border and cleaned it up using line pattern.

The swirl patterns were recorded on IQ then cleaned up using line pattern. Line pattern was also used for the straight line quilting.

This small piece uses patterns by Judy Lyon (the fairies), Patricia Ritter (the blue forget-me-nots), Hermione Agee (the butterflies) and One Song Needlearts (the center motif). I split out parts of the patterns and used IQ's path pattern to create the forget-me-not swags and ring of fairies. The butterflies were split out from Hermione Agee's edge to edge butterfly pattern. After quilting I colored it with Tsukineko inks, Crayola fabric markers and Fabrico markers and then added some Art Glitter. This quilt was auctioned at MQS 2011 as part of the fund raiser for their scholarship program.

This is an original design created entirely on IQ using the basic geometric patterns that come with IQ. I used path pattern, fan pattern and the star and spirograph pattern generators to make all the design elements.
